Dear Reader,
We all deserve a safe space in this world to become our authentic selves. What an honor it is to create stories and art that inspire dreams, cultivate an open heart and mind, and contribute towards imaging a place where even the hardest journeys find ease. As a writer, activist, and artist, my works are rooted in humanity with themes around family, friendship and culture, dismantling systems of oppression and fostering equity, and always finding a way to get back up after a fall. These stories are created with heart, soul, courage, and an unyielding belief that we all deserve to be seen and heard.
As the daughter of Taiwanese-Hakka immigrants, a survivor of childhood adversity, and someone who will battle with chronic illness my whole life, I write for children who yearn to see themselves reflected in stories, and to know with their whole heart that they matter innately.
